MSN Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program
 

Applications can be obtained at The Office of Graduate Studies Application Page

The next class will begin in January, 2008. 

 Personal interviews will be conducted on campus for all successful applicants.   Applicants will be able to meet faculty and take a tour of the campus.

Admission requirements for the MSN Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program include:

1) Submission of FGCU graduate application.

2) Submission of current resume and statement of career goals.

3) Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

4) Graduate Record Exam (GRE) taken within last 5 years, with minimum combined score of 1000 on verbal and quantitative sections. Analytical sections must also be reported.

The Miller's Analogy Test (MAT) taken within last 5 years, with a minimum score of 400 or above.

5) A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

6) Completion of undergraduate or graduate statistics course with a grade of “C” or above.

7) Completion of baccalaureate-level health assessment course with a grade of “C” or above.

8) Minimum of one year of practice as a registered nurse in an acute care setting. What constitutes acceptable experience will be determined by the admission committee.

9) Current and unrestricted registration as a registered nurse with eligibility for Florida RN licensure.

1o) Three references, one from the applicant's supervisor, one from the applicant's academic faculty and one from an RN or physician familiar with the applicant's professional expertise.

ACLS and BLS are not required for application to the program but are required to have been completed before the student begins the program.  All students must maintain current RN  licensure, ACLS and BLS while in the program.
