Program Overview

BSN-FTIN (First Time in Nursing) Program Overview

To be awarded a B.S. in Nursing, students must earn a minimum of 124 semester credit hours, including 64 credit hours of upper division coursework. A college or program faculty advisor assists students in preparing an academic plan that incorporates university and program requirements that must be fulfilled prior to graduation.

RN-BSN Accelerated Program Overview

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) graduates from Florida Public Community Colleges transfer 30 credit hours from their ASN program into FGCU Nursing program.  Diploma graduates, and ASN graduates from non-public programs and programs outside Florida, are individually evaluated by Florida Gulf Coast University School of Nursing faculty for admission into the RN-BSN Accelerated Pathway. A total of 124 credit hours is required for graduation with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida Gulf Coast University.  Additional electives may be required to reach the 124 credit hours. A minimum of 33 credit hours of coursework from FGCU is required for this accelerated pathway.
