Presentation:  Topic: CIO Challenges in Community Healthcare: Past Y2K to the new millennium

Sallie discussed her challenges as CIO of the Naples Community Hospital (NCH) healthcare system. She presented the NCH's Y2K preparation plan, the execution of the plan including their Y2K Drill, and what she learned from the process of the Y2K preparation.   She also discussed many new initiatives at NCH such as developing a health information network, and implementing a clinical data repository with documents imaging.    She emphasized that the ongoing effort to provide consistent, timely, and coordinated patient care requires constant attention.
