KAREN EASTWOOD teaches courses in the areas of management, human resources, organizational behavior, and cross-cultural management. Her interests in developing effective organizations and enhancing a global perspective entwine her academic and life experiences. Dr. Eastwood was involved in international clubs; studied for an interim semester in Mexico; served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Micronesia; and worked as a child welfare counselor on Guam. She combined management and cross-cultural experiences leading a multicultural workforce as a procurement specialist and Acting Chief of Procurement for six districts in the Trust Territory of the Pacific. She interacted with businesses in the U.S., Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Taiwan. She continued her management experience as the Manager of Purchasing and Materials for computer and consumer electronics firms in the US. She attended the Summer Workshop for Intercultural Course Development at the East-West Center in Hawaii, presented a paper at Oxford, traveled on a hotel barge through the rivers of France and is working on research with professors from Finland.
