Recruitment Opportunities for Small Business Owners

The Career and Service Center of Lee County is having a Career Fair on September 24, 2003 at Harborside Convention Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Employers have an opportunity to showcase their business as well as expand their recruitment efforts. A wide range of industries will be represented at the event; over 45 employers and 1400 job-seekers participated last year. Among the benefits offered are:

  • A coordinated recruitment effort by Employment, Training Agencies and Educational Institutions within Lee County to promote your company
  • An on-site representative from Employment & Training agencies of Lee County
  • A 6ft x 8ft booth, table, with reserved space for your company’s promotional materials and applications
  • High-speed Internet access will be available for employers as well as Job Fair particpants.

This is a “key” recruiting opportunity for small business owners who are unable to attend but need access to qualified and available workers. The Council and the FGCU SBDC will represent you. Call to find out how you can gain access to this pool of available and qualified workers!

The Employer Service Center Advisory Council for the Career and Service Center will also provide exhibition space for companies that are interested in participating, but unable to attend the event. They will be able to display their promotional materials for a nominal fee. The well-attended event is a valuable marketing tool.

To register for exhibition space for either of the options or for further information, please contact Barbara Hartman at the Career and Service Center of Lee County at 278-7140, Ext. 197 or Suzanne Specht at the Small Business Development Center at 225-4220.
