The family of the late Tommy and Mary Frances Howard generously supports this lecture series.

Throughout Tommy’s many years as a business and civic leader, he worked tirelessly, with Mary Frances’ support, to establish a university presence in Southwest Florida. He has been credited as being one of the most infl uential persons in the region for bringing the University of South Florida to Fort Myers, as well as Florida Gulf Coast University. In addition to his highly visible community work, Tommy was a successful business leader, holding the position of President and Chief Executive Offi cer of First Federal Savings and Loan Association.
