Financial Analysts Society Establishes New Scholarships, Two Awarded to FGCU Students
FORT MYERS, FL - The Naples Financial Analysts Society awarded scholarships for the first time this week to Florida Gulf Coast University business students Elizabeth Hofferber of Naples and Thomas L. Walsh Jr. of Lansing, Mich.
The NFAS, which is a chapter of the global, nonprofit organization Association for Investment Management and Research, established the scholarships for Finance majors with a concentration in Investment Studies. The worldwide organization includes more than 47,000 investment professionals from over 98 countries. It provides leadership in investment education, professional standards and advocacy programs including the development and administration of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
The NFAS created the scholarships to help identify, assist and reward motivated and deserving students who are studying for careers in the investment profession. Recipients are required to maintain an overall gpa of 3.00.
The society will formally award the scholarships at a luncheon on noon, Tuesday, April 10 at the Naples Beach Hotel Conference Center.
