"Tips for Successful Fundraising" Workshop Offered by FGCU Florida Institute of Government

FORT MYERS, FL - Nonprofit and government employees are invited to attend a one-day workshop “Tips for Successful Fundraising” presented by the Florida Institute of Government at Florida Gulf Coast University from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 26. The workshop will be at the Center for Professional Development at Edison Community College.

As available dollars shrink and the competition grows, organizations must find creative ways to support their programs and services. Fundraising is often a useful tool to supplement stretched budgets.

Objectives will be to discuss the role of philanthropy in nonprofits; understand the importance of diversified funding bases; learn fundraising options, strategies and techniques; determine board and staff roles in fundraising; and learn how to develop written resource development plans.

Susie Bennett is instructor for the program.

The central purpose of the Institute is to help promote superior performance in government and nonprofit organizations through quality training, consulting and technical assistance. As an accredited comprehensive public university, FGCU addresses the higher educational needs of Southwest Florida and provides a learning-centered environment that offers high quality educational opportunities for the general public, such as administratively hosting the Institute.
