Open to Caregivers and Professionals
FORT MYERS, FL - The problem of memory loss in Alzheimer’s patients will be addressed at a one-day seminar from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Friday, June 15, 2001 at Lexington Country Club. The seminar is supported by Florida Gulf Coast University, Lee Memorial Health System, ENCORE Senior Village of Fort Myers, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, and Pfizer, Inc.
This seminar, “The Alzheimer’s Puzzle”, is designed to provide a spectrum of strategies for health care professionals, service providers, and family caregivers to meet the challenges of memory loss. The following topics will be discussed:
· Alzheimer’s Disease: New Direction in Therapeutics
· Therapeutic interventions for the Mind, Body, and Spirit of the Person with Alzheimer’s
· Family Is As Family does
· Communicating With the Physicians
· Non-Pharmacological Approaches to Behavioral Problems in Persons with Dementia
· The Driving Dilemma

Pre-registration fees until June 12 are $20 for family caregivers or students, $25 for LMHS employees, and $35 for healthcare professionals/service providers. This program will provide six contact hours for continuing education credit. Ten dollars will be added to the fee for day-of-event registration.
