FGCU SBDC Workers Earn State Recognition
FORT MYERS, FL – Three workers of the Florida Gulf Coast University Small Business Development Center were
recognized as award winners on June 19 by the state director’s office at the Florida SBDC Network’s 2001 Professional Development Conference in Key West.
Each year, the FSBDC Network recognizes employees and volunteers of local SBDCs for their exemplary efforts in supporting and fulfilling the FSBDC’s mission to help entrepreneurs form, sustain and grow successful businesses in Florida through the organization’s Performance Awards.
Julio Estremera was recognized as FGCU SBDC Volunteer of the Year, Ana “Vicky” Holmes was given the FGCU SBDC Employee of the Year award, and Suzanne Specht was awarded the FGCU SBDC Certified Business Analyst of the Year.
“The economic impact and reputation of the FSBDC Network is directly attributable to the knowledge, skills and dedication of our professional business analysts, volunteers and support staff. We are especially proud of these Network members who have been recognized for their outstanding efforts in delivering services to the small business community,” said state director Jerry Cartwright.
The FSBDC Network is the largest and most successful business assistance program in Florida , featuring 20 college and university-based centers strategically located throughout the state, with additional outreach provided at resource partner locations, including economic development councils, chambers of commerce and banks.
