Owen-Ames-Kimball Company Establishes Scholarship Fund at FGCU
Fort Myers, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University students who are employees or relatives of employees of the Owen-Ames-Kimball Company are now eligible for scholarship assistance from the newly created Owen-Ames-Kimball Endowed Scholarship Fund. Other FGCU students studying construction management, engineering, or business may also be eligible for assistance from the fund.
Owen-Ames-Kimball Company President Steve Shimp, FGCU President William C. Merwin and FGCU Foundation Executive Director John M. Crowley participated in the official ceremony to establish the fund.
The FGCU Foundation will administer the fund in accordance with the Foundation and State of Florida Board of Education rules, regulations and policies. The Foundation is also authorized to accept additional contributions or donations from any person or entity in support of the fund. The Office of Financial Aid scholarship committee will select scholarship winners.
“We are optimistic that following this initial endowment we will be able to add to this fund over the years,” said Shimp. “Hopefully our employees will avail themselves to this benefit for years to come. It is a pleasure to have a university now in our neighborhood.”
