Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva Boosts Education for Women at FGCU SBDC
FORT MYERS, FL - Women business owners in Lee County are getting a boost to their education thanks to the Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva. The group recently awarded the Florida Gulf Coast University Small Business Development Center with a $750 grant to develop a tuition-reimbursement program for women who own businesses in the county.
The tuition reimbursement program will aid women business owners to attend seminars and workshops that will help them build their business skills. Eligible women, either in the start-up phase or in an existing business, can submit a 250-word essay explaining their need for tuition reimbursement to attend a seminar series.
Typical SBDC seminars series include business plan, start-up, marketing, government, or technology. Each series typically costs $99. The Zonta grant allows eligible women to apply for a reimbursement and to receive a discounted cost of only $49 for a selected series of business education.
"The 50 percent tuition reimbursement is a great help to women business owners," FGCU SBDC Director Dan Regelski said. "And we are thankful to the Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva for granting us the funds to create a tuition reimbursement program."
