Teachers Invited to Apply for “UCF at FGCU” Doctoral Program
FORT MYERS, FL - Teachers and others with master’s degrees are invited to attend one of several orientation meetings in Charlotte, Collier and Lee counties to learn more about the University of Central Florida at Florida Gulf Coast University’s doctoral programs in Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction and how to apply for admission before the March 23 deadline. FGCU hosts the classes and UCF awards the degrees.
Orientation meetings in Charlotte County are:
·2:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31, School Board Building Room 156
·2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, Charlotte-Edison Community College, SS Building Conference Room 123
Orientation meetings in Collier County are:
·4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, Oakridge Middle School Media Center
·4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, Collier-Edison Community College
Orientation meetings in Lee County are:
·1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30, Edison Community College, Robinson Hall Room 216
·5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, Dr. James A. Adams Public Education Center, Staff Development Training Room B
·5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, LaBelle-Edison Community College Office
Educational Leadership prepares educators for leadership positions at all levels of education. Students are also prepared for positions in teaching and research.
Students in Curriculum and Instruction are interested in teaching in a college of education, teaching a content field at the community college level, becoming a school district leader in curriculum and instruction, or performing instructional design tasks in governmental or business settings.
