Entrepreneurs Encouraged to Learn How to Better Fund Their Ventures; SBDC Offers Forum in North Naples
FORT MYERS, FL - Entrepreneurs are encouraged to reserve space now to attend the “Venture Funding Forum” from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 at the Double Tree Hotel in north Naples to learn how to better fund their ventures. The Florida Gulf Coast University Small Business Development Center in the College of Business is presenting the event.
Participants will have their choice of six sessions. Topics range from pro forma financial statements, SBA 504 loan program, Collier County’s micro loan program and the business incubator/accelerator concept.
Myths about chances for women’s funding, loan packages, financing new/growth ventures, intellectual property, searching the Internet for funding sources, alternative funding sources and funding strategies for the new entrepreneur.
There will be a business plan round-up competition at lunch and the winner will receive a $500 prize.
Presenters include Dan Borgia, professor in the FGCU College of Business; Terri Cala, Bank One; Katherine Dew, International College; Sue Goby, Business Solutions of Naples; Rich Holman, The Technology Capital Group; Gene Landrum, International College; Judith McCaffrey, McCaffrey & Raimi; and Roger McKeller, Southern Community Bank; Ned Oldham, JD; Jack Palmer, Stellar Business Builders; Nancy Ross, Northwestern Financial Network; Rosemary Russo, RCR Financial Solutions; Raymond Schumann, Law Office of Raymond Schumann; Thomas Wallace, NOVA Financial Services; and Jeff White, Silicon Valley Bank.
Tuition for either morning or afternoon sessions is $69 pre-registered and $84 the day of the forum. The full day is $99 pre-registered and $114 at the door. All registrations include lunch. Registration is by check or credit card (VISA and Master Card only).
