Radio Show Wednesday Features Occupational Therapy Profession
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University’s monthly radio series Regional Outlook features a conversation with chair of the department of Occupational Therapy Tina Gelpi and assistant professor and academic coordinator of fieldwork Karen Mock, 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, on WGCU-FM 90.1 and WMKO-FM 91.7.
This month, the show takes a look at the profession of occupational therapy and FGCU’s bachelor’s and master’s programs in OT.
The conversation highlights the current need for occupational therapists in Southwest Florida, expected salary range, client populations served by occupational therapists and the types of facilities and organizations that employ them.
Mock and Gelpi discuss educational requirements for entry into the profession, including assistant occupational therapists, and the curriculum of FGCU’s two academic programs, required fieldwork and the national certification exam.
