Business Seniors Score in Top Fifth of National Examinees
FORT MYERS, FL - Graduating seniors in the Florida Gulf Coast University College of Business recently scored in the top fifth of all examinees of the national Major Field Achievement test administered by the Educational Testing Service, or ETS, in Princeton, N.J.
FGCU’s business seniors achieved a composite score that ranked them above the 81st percentile on the exam, which compares students’ academic knowledge across a national benchmark of 388 business schools. The benchmark includes a range of smaller programs, such as the Air Force Academy and the State University of New York-Brockport, and larger schools such as Louisiana State University, University of Tennessee and the University of West Virginia.
“This is a powerful testament for our students and our program,” FGCU dean of the college of Business Dick Pegnetter said. “The academic quality of our faculty is the critical and distinguishing factor. The strength of this quality across our undergraduate and graduate programs is already having an impact on the Southwest Florida economy.”
Enrollment in the FGCU College of Business is over 1,400 students, representing 34 percent of all declared majors at the University.
