"Professional Business Writing" Workshop Offered by FGCU Florida Institute of Government
FORT MYERS, FL - Managers and employees from both the private and public sectors are invited to attend a full-day course “Professional Business Writing” presented by the Florida Institute of Government at Florida Gulf Coast University as part of its Professional Development Series from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15 at the FGCU Broadcast Building Room 111.
The course is designed to improve business writing skills to better meet the needs of customers, prospects and internal clients. Whether a seasoned professional or just starting out, the seminar offers an up-to-date look at what is happening in the world of business correspondence. Participants will get new ideas on improving the organization of letters and memos, and learn how to better tailor correspondence to the reader.

Jim Jacoby is instructor for the program. He has more than 30 years experience in communications management for several Fortune 500 companies and has owned his own consulting business since 1977. Personally, he has taught more than 7,000 seminar participants and college students worldwide.
Jacoby’s expertise is business writing including letters, memos, email, reports, job procedures, and grammar and punctuation. Currently, he teaches seminars at FGCU and Edison Community College, plus in-house at numerous organizations in Florida, Minnesota and Oklahoma. The author of a textbook and many publications, Jacoby holds a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Pennsylvania State University.
