FGCU Foundation Board Meets Wednesday
12/9/2002

FORT MYERS, FL - The Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation Board of Directors will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11 in the Whitaker Hall Sprint Room.

A highlight of the meeting will be the presentation of a check for $300,000 from Wachovia to establish the Wachovia Consortium for Consumer and Financial Education at FGCU. The consortium’s mission is to empower Southwest Florida citizens of all ages to become informed, reasoned, decision-making consumers through education. Principal activities of the consortium include an annual symposium for seniors, an annual summer camp for children and web-based consumer education.

The Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation Inc. is the nonprofit, fundraising arm of FGCU.
