Public Invited to "Breakfast at Eight" Fundraiser to benefit Public Schools Enrichment Partnership's Scholars Club

FORT MYERS, FL - The Public Schools Enrichment Partnership’s Scholars Club at Florida Gulf Coast University invites the public to attend the first “Breakfast at Eight” fundraiser, 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29 at the Club at Grandezza.

The gourmet breakfast is an opportunity for distinguished guests and Scholars Club members to meet and converse with one another.

“Breakfast at Eight will be fun, informative and more importantly, will benefit deserving students,” fund development associate Portia C. Allen said. “Funds raised at this event will provide scholarships for Scholars Club members.”

President William C. Merwin will give Welcome Remarks and Golf & Electric Carriages Inc. chairman and president Roger Brownell will provide the Words of Thanks.

Scholars Club is a community-backed partnership between public schools and FGCU to assist and motivate minority and multicultural students.

Created in 1989, Scholars Club helps nearly 2,000 students in 50 school chapters throughout Southwest Florida.

It is a United Way agency and receives funding from the FGCU Foundation and other foundations, grants and philanthropic individuals.

The cost to attend the breakfast is $100 per person.
