WHO FGCU Astronomy Group, for the public
WHAT “Saturn Observation Campaign 2004 at the Evelyn L. Egan Observatory” featuring
· a presentation about Saturn and NASA’s Cassini Mission due to arrive at Saturn in July
· videos about Saturn
· posters and
· viewing of Saturn and other celestial objects through a variety of telescopes including FGCU’s research-grade, 16-inch Ritchey-Chrétien telescope
WHEN Beginning at 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 31. Visitors are strongly encouraged to attend even if the weather is unpredictable. Cloudy afternoons typically clear as the evening progresses.
WHERE FGCU Evelyn L. Egan Observatory
WHY Saturn is the closest to Earth it has been during the past 30 years and is one of the most spectacular objects in the night sky. The best time to observe it is now.
