FGCU Names 'Majestic Benefactor' for President's Celebration 2004
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University announced The Ginn Company has donated $50,000 to the fourth annual President’s Celebration Feb. 21 at the FGCU Alico Arena, making the corporation the fundraising event’s Majestic Benefactor, its highest sponsor.
The Ginn Company is one of the largest resort residential development companies in Florida. The company’s principals have more than three decades experience developing master-planned communities around the country.
Previously, the company made headlines when it announced plans for a local redevelopment project and for a significant gift to FGCU that would provide new facilities, program funding and land totaling $13.9 million, which would have been eligible for a $7.5 million match from the State of Florida.
The event’s Majestic Benefactor sponsor receives a table at the gala with preferred seating, event recognition and an FGCU classroom named in perpetuity.
Six other levels of giving, each with its own set of benefits, include the Regal Players beginning at $5,000 up to the Royal Court at $25,000.
This year’s theme “Renaissance Garden 2004” continues the tradition of using ‘renaissance’ to reflect FGCU’s vision of the rebirth of learning and a higher emphasis on the arts, science, logic and the imagination.
Traditionally, the gala attracts hundreds of FGCU supporters and well-wishers from the University’s five-county service area and beyond, including CEOs and executives of major corporations and businesses, philanthropists and engaged citizens.
Sponsored by the Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation, the fundraising event supports student scholarships and academic programs at FGCU.
The media is invited to attend. Reserve seating will be available.
