Southwest Florida Comprehensive System of Personnel Development, Council for Children with Behavior Disorders Host Spring Conference

FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University invites educators and parents to "Putting Order in Disorders," the second annual spring conference of the Council for Children with Behavior Disorders partnering with the FGCU Southwest Florida Comprehensive System of Personnel Development and Chapter 270 of the Council for Exceptional Children, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, May 8 on the FGCU campus.

"This is a great opportunity for teachers, program specialists and parents to learn the latest research-based strategies for their children in school and home settings, as well as receive valuable information on positive behavioral support," CSPD coordinator Peg Sullivan said.

Florida's CCBD president Lauren Lovell coordinated the program that includes Lee Clark from the Florida Department of Education, Bureau of Instructional Support and Community Services, who will deliver the keynote address.

Once a special education teacher, administrator and program specialist, Clark now oversees the state's initiative to improve the quality of programs for students with behavioral disorders.

Other experts are scheduled to provide featured presentations as well.

The registration fee is $55 for CEC members and $65 for non-members.
