Florida SBDC Network Selects Local Employee as 2004 State Star
FORT MYERS, FL - The Florida Small Business Development Center Network named Suzanne Specht, Certified Business Analyst at the Florida Gulf Coast University SBDC, the 2004 State Star for being an exemplary performer, making a significant contribution to the SBDC program, and showing a strong commitment to small business in Southwest Florida.
"I'm extremely pleased to recognize our 2004 State Star, Suzanne Specht, who exemplifies the SBDC program's guiding principles of service to the client above all else, hard work, individual productivity and continuous improvement, excellence in reputation, being part of something special, recognition and respect for all employees, honesty and integrity, and work is fun," Florida SBDC Network director Jerry Cartwright said.
"This dedicated professional ensures that entrepreneurs and small business owners receive the best information and assistance possible to contribute to their success. Her customer impact speaks for itself and her customers speak loudly of her. We're proud of her service to the business community and to the institution she represents."
The Association of Small Business Development Centers honors an outstanding SBDC employee annually from every state as a Star performer. The ASBDC will present the State Star Awards in September at a reception during the 2004 annual conference in New Orleans.
"I am extremely fortunate to belong to an awesome organization that truly helps small business owners," Specht said. "When a client calls me to say that he or she couldn't have survived in business without me, then I know that my assistance truly matters."
America's SBDC network is a partnership uniting private enterprise, government, higher education and local nonprofit economic development organizations. It is the U.S. Small Business Administration's largest partnership program, providing management and technical assistance to help Americans start, run and grow their own businesses. With about 1,000 centers across the nation, the SBDC network assists approximately 650,000 small businesses every year in face-to-face counseling and training, in addition to assisting hundreds of thousands more small businesses through fax-on-demand and e-mail.
The Florida SBDC Network is the only statewide business assistance program in Florida - featuring 31 centers strategically located throughout the state.
