FGCU Center for Positive Aging Restores Programs, Services Aug. 31 for Older Adults in Charlotte County

FORT MYERS, FL - The Florida Gulf Coast University Center for Positive Aging begins a modified schedule for programs and services Tuesday, Aug. 31 in the Charlotte County Cultural Center to assist older adults.
Program space is limited and clients are encouraged to call the Center for Positive Aging before embarking for the Cultural Center.
As space becomes available in various locations, the FGCU Center for Positive Aging will offer respite, relaxation, animal assisted therapy, exercise, and caregiver counseling sessions. The Center also visits older adults at their homes or in disaster shelters.
The FGCU Center for Positive Aging encourages clients to call or email the Center with any requests in the aftermath of Hurricane Charley and commits to providing services to older adults as needed.
In addition, the FGCU Center for Positive Aging plans to have student volunteers available soon to assist older adults in Charlotte County.
