EMBA Program Adds Real Estate and Finance Concentration; Changes Start Times Beginning Fall 2005
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University's Executive Master of Business Administration program expands offerings this month to include a new concentration in real estate development and finance to assist real estate professionals in obtaining an EMBA.
Enrollees take an additional two courses beyond the traditional EMBA program and substitute a third real estate-specific course for the international study portion.
"Combining the new real estate development and finance concentration students with the traditional EMBA students enhances the learning experience for everyone involved in the EMBA program," said Shelton Weeks, associate professor of Finance and director of the Lucas Institute for Real Estate Development and Finance at FGCU's Center for Leadership and Innovation.
Weeks lead the development of the addition to the EMBA program after the Lucas Institute polled local, regional and national real estate development authorities in order to design the new curriculum.
In addition, the EMBA program is changing its enrollment start times to every other year beginning fall 2005.
"Moving to this new starting schedule will allow our students to better align their studies with their career development plans," EMBA program director Doug Steele said. "With this new schedule, we also look forward to more easily fitting into the personnel development plans of the business community in Southwest Florida."
