FGCU Foundation Announces New Board Member
FORT MYERS, FL - The Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation Inc. elected retired neurosurgeon Joy Arpin of Naples to the Foundation Board of Directors yesterday.
Arpin has been professor of neurological surgery at the Montreal Neurological Institute and the University of Louisville. She completed her residency at the Montreal Neurological Institute and the McGill Teaching Hospitals in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and her professional work is widely published.
Arpin was affiliated with Cape Coral Hospital, Southwest Florida Regional Medical Center, Gulf Coast Hospital and Lee Memorial Hospital, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, American Association of Neurological Surgeons and Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
Arpin and her husband George Sypert, also a retired neurosurgeon, contributed a lead gift to FGCU's planned music and lecture hall. They also chaired the Foundation's Chinese Dinner event this year. She is a member of the FGCU Renaissance Academy.
