FGCU Hosts Seminar March 18 to Discuss Seagrass Paradox
FORT MYERS, FL - The Florida Gulf Coast University Biotechnology Seminar Series invites members of the public and media to "The Seagrass Paradox: A Legacy of Evolution and Implications for Responses to Changing Climates" noon, Friday, March 18 in 139 Reed Hall.
The free seminar features speaker Richard Zimmerman, chair of the Department of Ocean, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va.
Zimmerman has conducted research on seagrasses around the world. His research has focused on the physiological features of seagrasses that allow them to be inhabit coastal marine environments and the impacts of habitat deterioration in their ecological success.
