FGCU Spring Student Art Exhibition Opens April 21; Seniors Display Work in Arts Complex, Library

FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University invites the public to the spring student art exhibition and opening reception 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 21 in the Arts Complex art gallery. The exhibit runs through Saturday, April 30.
Some of FGCU's finest student work is exhibited in the areas of sculpture, drawing, painting, photography, digital media and ceramics during the biannual show.

Between April 17 and 22, seniors with projects on display include Melissa Carrington, Scott Guelcher, Clayton Roberts, Rebecca Stewart and Lisa Thomet.
A second group of projects by Megan Kissinger, Jeff Lewis, Agnieschka Mykieta, Deanna Saracki, Francesco A. Uricchio, Lisa Van Waus and Lindsey Wollard is displayed April 25 through April 30.
The Art degree program at FGCU began with six majors in 1997 and has increased to become one of the fastest growing visual arts programs in America. The Art degree program currently boasts nearly 100 students taught by six full-time and five adjunct faculty members. Course offerings include a range of studio classes such as ceramics, design, drawing, painting, and sculpture, as well as art history courses such as art and ecology, 19th century art history and medieval art.
Admission is free. The galleries are open to the public 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, excluding University holidays. FGCU hosts special after graduation hours 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, April 30.
