FGCU Offers Firearm Identification Educational Seminar
FORT MYERS, FL - The Florida Gulf Coast University Institute for Forensic Excellence invites criminal justice professionals and students, firearm enthusiasts and the general public to attend a firearm identification educational seminar, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, June 3 in the Ruth L. Faith Lecture Hall, Whitaker Hall 101, to learn about firearms and dispel common misconceptions.
The seminar addresses safety issues concerning the seizure of firearms, history of firearm ammunition, nomenclature and identification. The course also includes firearm definitions, operating principles, legal classifications and demonstrations.
Individuals involved in criminal justice, prosecution or defense will especially benefit from the seminar.
Registration is $50 for criminal justice professionals and the general public, and $30 for current FGCU students.
The Institute for Forensic Excellence is part of the FGCU Center for Excellence in Public Safety and Law Enforcement funded by the Department of Justice.
