FGCU Appoints Rogers as Associate Provost, Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs

FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University provost and vice president for Academic Affairs Bonnie L. Yegidis announces the appointment of Hudson Rogers to the position of associate provost and associate vice president for Academic Affairs effective May 16.

Rogers is responsible for providing strategic direction and coordination of academic planning, processes, budgeting, faculty affairs and policies. He participates in the management of academic personnel processes, budget and resource allocation and works with the offices of Curriculum and Instruction, Planning and Institutional Performance, and Contracts and Grants to ensure efficient operation of the academic affairs function.

Most recently, Rogers was associate dean in the FGCU College of Business. He served two years as a department chair and is a founding faculty member. While at FGCU, Rogers served as the external reviewer for a U.S. Department of Education Business and International Education grant for Seattle University and a Department of Education grant for Arkansas State University.

Previously, Rogers was employed as an associate professor of marketing at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he was active in the formation and management of the International Trade Development Group and the International Business Exchange, two efforts designed to promote international trade with the City of Lafayette. He also taught at the University of Caen, France, GFS in Berlin and Christian Brothers University in Memphis.

Rogers has published more than 50 scholarly articles in journals, and national and international conference proceedings. He earned a Doctor of Business Administration in marketing from the University of Memphis, a Master of Business Administration from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelor of Science in management studies with a focus on management and accounting from the University of the West Indies, Trinidad.

"His record of accomplishments during his tenure as associate dean of the College of Business demonstrates his keen knowledge and skill in the areas of budget development and management and faculty affairs. I am thrilled that he has chosen to become a member of the senior team in academic affairs."
