FGCU Names Kakkuri to Head Center for Leadership & Innovation
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University recently appointed David C. Kakkuri to the position of director of the Center for Leadership & Innovation, an auxiliary operation of the College of Business that provides a link to FGCU's external constituencies in the Southwest Florida business community.
As director, Kakkuri further enhances the growth of the CLI and the strength of the Executive MBA program, Small Business Development Center, Applied Faculty Institutes and partnership with the Southwest Florida Library Network.
Kakkuri works with key local, regional and international individuals in education, business and government agencies to further develop existing relationships and build news ones in step with the College of Business and FGCU's growth and development.
Kakkuri remains an adjunct professor in the College of Business' Department of Management and continues his involvement with the FGCU Leadership Academy, a faculty-staff management training program he created.
In 2004, Kakkuri began at FGCU as the manager of Employee Relations and Staff Development in the Office of Human Resources.
Until 2002, Kakkuri was the Senior Organization Development Manager in Corporate Human Resources for Kraft Foods North America. His work involved leadership development, strategic planning processes and high-performance work systems.
Kakkuri earned his Ph.D. in educational psychology and instructional design at the University of Illinois-Chicago in 1994.
