Laviolette Appointed Director of Undergraduate Admissions at FGCU
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University announces the recent appointment of R. Marc Laviolette of Fort Myers to the position of director of Undergraduate Admissions.
"With FGCU being one of the fastest growing universities in the country, Mr. Laviolette's leadership background provides a tremendous asset to managing that growth and providing exemplary service to future students interested in attending FGCU," vice president for Administrative Affairs Joe Shepard said.
Laviolette is also an adjunct instructor in the College of Arts and Sciences. Prior to his recent appointment, Laviolette was director of Curriculum Advising and Program Planning at FGCU since December 2004. He has been an academic adviser in the College of Business, and assistant registrar, graduate admissions coordinator, first year adviser and limited access programs coordinator in Enrollment Management.
"I look forward to the opportunity of sustaining the rapid growth and attracting the high number of quality students that FGCU has experienced since we opened," Laviolette said.
From September 2002 to February 2003, Laviolette was vice president for Corporate Services at EnviroSafe Wood Treatment Products in Fort Myers, and from 1991 to 1998, he was a real estate broker with VIP Realty Group and Cypress Real Estate in Fort Myers. He served in the navy of the Canadian Armed Forces from 1975 to 2001.
Laviolette earned a Master of Business Administration from FGCU in 2002 and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the College Militaire Royal de St. Jean in Quebec, Ca., in 1975.
