SBDC Hires Certified Business Analyst
to Promote Small Business Development in Cape Coral
FORT MYERS, FL - The Small Business Development Center at Florida Gulf Coast University announces the recent appointment of writing and marketing professional Lisa Sparks as Certified Business Analyst in Cape Coral.
The FGCU SBDC hired Sparks to work with the City of Cape Coral's Economic Development Office to promote, enhance and facilitate the growth of small and home-based businesses in Cape Coral, and to provide support services to other Certified Business Analysts who counsel small business owners throughout Southwest Florida.
For four years, Sparks used the Internet to turn her home-based business in Cape Coral into a nationally recognized marketing and copywriting resource for small and home-based businesses.
"Lisa has developed and presented several seminars for us over the years and we're glad to call her one of our very own business analysts," director of the SBDC Dan Regelski said. "Our clients can now benefit from her expansive knowledge of Internet marketing for small businesses."
Prior to relocating to Cape Coral from Philadelphia, Sparks became associate editor at the nation's largest business-to-business newsletter publishing company, Progressive Business Publications. During her tenure she edited, wrote or proofread 15 of the company's then 29 newsletters.
Sparks received marketing and publishing training from international children's publisher Scholastic, Inc., where she served as an intern for two of the organization's major classroom magazines. She also wrote opinion columns and entertainment and book reviews for the Philadelphia Daily News.
While earning her bachelor's degree in international business and marketing from Philadelphia University, Sparks was awarded an International Student's Certificate from the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain. She both speaks and writes fluent Spanish.
For more information, media representatives should contact Regelski at (239) 225-4220.
