FGCU College of Education Offers Psychological First-Aid Training to First Responders in Lee County Schools

WHO FGCU College of Education, for the media

WHAT "Psychological First-Aid Training to First Responders in Lee County Schools" a Disaster Behavioral Health - Psychological First Aid training course offered by FGCU College of Education, Lee County School Board, and the Lee County Medical Reserve Corps. Psychiatrist Patricia Santucci and mental health counselor and FGCU associate professor Abbe Finn will conduct the trainings.

WHEN 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, April 25

WHERE Student Union ballroom

WHY The curriculum is based on best practices and information from the Second Edition of Psychological First Aid Field Operations Guide from The National Child Traumatic Stress Network and the National Center for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD. The presentation has been modified to focus on appropriate responses to hurricanes and campus violence. Expecting 120 participants.
