FGCU Signs Articulation Agreement with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine Bradenton
8/17/2007

FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University recently signed an articulation agreement with officials from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine Bradenton that facilitates admission for accelerated programs in osteopathic medicine and pharmacy education for FGCU students.

Qualified students selecting the accelerated course of study must fulfill requirements as set forth by FGCU for their first three years (90 credit hours) of coursework. If all requirements are maintained, students are eligible for admission to a Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) Bradenton program to which they have applied.

Upon successful completion of the first year of the LECOM osteopathic or pharmacy curriculum, 30 credits are awarded by FGCU for completion and conferral of the Bachelor of Science in Biology. Students will complete their professional education at LECOM Bradenton.

The agreement stipulates that students may elect to complete a fourth year at FGCU that follows a more traditional pattern of four years of undergraduate coursework prior to receiving the baccalaureate degree and entering the LECOM Bradenton program.

For more information and application materials, contact director of Professional Programs in the Department of Biological Sciences Jo Ann Wilson at (239) 590-7481.
