FGCU Hosts "Software Technologies Distinguished Lecture Series"

FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University and the Economic Development Councils in Charlotte, Collier and Lee counties invite the public to take part in the "Software Technologies Distinguished Lecture Series" presented by community leaders from companies in Southwest Florida that specialize in software development and services, beginning 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursdays, Sept 27 through Dec. 6 in Academic Building V.

The objectives of the series is to bring awareness to the community and educate the general population about the accomplishments of software related high-tech companies located in the area, and to bring together the area's professionals working on the development and use of new technologies in software applications and services across the high-tech industries.

The lectures will be provided by a variety of experts from software related companies.

Scott Théroux, director of Product Development Neighborhood America in Naples begins the series with "Enterprise Social Networks: Designing Web Applications for Scalability," on Thursday, Sept. 27.

 Walt Weisel, chairman and CEO for Innova Robotics & Automation presents lecture Oct. 4
 Mike Dwyer, vice president of Research for CallMiner Inc. in Fort Myers presents lecture Oct. 11
 Gene Trefethen, CEO for Fox Electronics in Fort Myers presents lecture Oct. 25
 Greg Kirchdorfer, CEO for Internet Office Inc. in Naples presents lecture Nov. 1
 Aaron N. Shepherd, senior vice president for Pegasus Solutions in Bonita Springs presents lecture Nov. 15
 Kevin Hunter, chief scientist for NeoMedia Technologies in Fort Myers presents lecture Nov. 29
 John Connor, CTO and senior vice president for ASG Software Solutions in Naples presents lecture Dec. 6

The series is sponsored by FGCU Lutgert College of Business, Computer Science and CIS Departments, Economic Development Partners in Charlotte, Collier and Lee counties.
