FGCU Graduates 760 at 19th Commencement Dec. 15;
President Wilson G. Bradshaw to Give Address
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University expects to graduate 760 students during fall commencement exercises, 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 at Alico Arena.
FGCU President Wilson G. Bradshaw delivers the commencement address to graduates and over 4,000 family members and guests.
Florida Gulf Coast University's Board of Trustees unanimously selected Dr. Wilson G. Bradshaw to become the institution's third president on Aug. 25, 2007, the University's 10th anniversary. He comes to FGCU from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, MN, where he served as president for seven years. Dr. Bradshaw previously held the posts of provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at Bloomsburg University and dean of Graduate Studies at Florida Atlantic University.
The ceremony is FGCU's 19th commencement and includes students completing degree requirements during summer and fall terms. FGCU has conferred over 6,000 degrees since fall 1997. The ceremony lasts approximately two hours. A reception for graduates and their guests follows the ceremony. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. for seating. Early arrival is encouraged.
Commencement guests and attendees are kindly asked to refrain from taking photos on the floor once the processional begins.
