Chinese Artists Visiting FGCU Give Demonstrations
to Students and the Public
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University presents educational programs as a result of "I Am in It: Contemporary Chinese Art Expressions" exhibit showing Jan. 10 to Feb. 16 at the FGCU Arts Complex art gallery. The programs provide FGCU students, K-12 students and the public with an opportunity to study works and interact with artists from this contemporary Chinese art movement.
Presentations and demonstrations by the artists that will benefit FGCU art students on campus are scheduled Jan. 11, and Jan. 14 through Jan. 17.
The artists will provide instruction to FGCU students in a ceramics class at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, in the Arts Complex. Students will decorate ceramic bowls and donate them to "Empty Bowls," a fundraising event for the Harry Chapin Food Bank.
In addition to the works of art in exhibition, other works by the artists can be viewed at the Margaret S. Sugden Welcome Center and the Renaissance Academy in Naples. A list of works for sale by the artists is available at the exhibition.
