FGCU Announces Hundreds of Student Scholarships Available;
Applications Due Saturday, March 1
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University announced deadline to apply for hundreds of scholarships is March 1. Anyone who plans to attend FGCU in fall 2008 is encouraged to apply.
March 1, 2008 is the deadline for completing the FGCU Foundation Scholarship application for the 2008-09 academic year. Students who complete and submit the FGCU Foundation Scholarship application by March 1, will receive priority consideration. Applications received from March 2 through March 31 will only be considered when no qualified applicants exist in the initial priority pool.
For 2007-08 academic year, the Financial Aid Scholarships Office awarded scholarships to more than 850 students, with an average award of $1,500.
"One need not be in dire straits or a straight-A student to receive these scholarships. Some are based on residency alone, some on major, some on personal characteristics of the students," said senior director of Advancement Judie Cassidy.
