FGCU to Host Law School Informational Session Friday
4/8/2008

FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University hosts a law school information session 2 p.m., Friday, April 11 in Academic Building III, room 124. Chuck Roboski, associate dean for Admissions and External Affairs of Ave Maria School of Law presents the lecture on Ave Maria's Law School relocation to Southwest Florida for potentially interested law school candidates. The event is free and open to the public.

The presentation will address factors on which law school admission committees focus when making decisions followed by a presentation on Ave Maria.

Ave Maria School of Law's Board of Governors decided in February 2007 to relocate the law school to Collier County, some 30 miles inland of the Gulf Coast. Beginning in the summer of 2009, the School of Law will be located adjacent to the 900-acre campus of Ave Maria University and will benefit from Southwest Florida's continuous growth.

The new location will enhance the school's ability to fulfill its distinctive mission as a Catholic law school dedicated to professional excellence. As the Law School charts the next decade and beyond, there are a number of ambitious plans and goals that include the expansion of the faculty, the addition of a study-abroad program in Italy, a continuing commitment to strong clinical programs that serve both students and the residents of the region.

Roboski will be available to answer questions from participants.

For more information, media representatives should contact Bob Diotalevi, FGCU's Legal Studies Program Coordinator, at (239)590-7817.
