FGCU President Wilson G. Bradshaw and Mrs. Jo Anna Bradshaw Establish Scholarship Fund
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University President Wilson G. Bradshaw and his wife, Jo Anna recently established a personally funded endowed scholarship at FGCU that will financially assist deserving students annually in perpetuity.
The President and Mrs. Bradshaw have generously contributed $10,000 to establish the endowed scholarship fund that will generate a $500 scholarship each year to be awarded to a student who meets the eligibility criteria.
"Jo Anna and I have established this scholarship to assist deserving students with the cost of their education here at FGCU. We hope that in some manner, this scholarship will make the promise of a college education a reality for future students attending our fine university," said President Bradshaw.
The University will select the recipients based on the donor-directed criteria. Recipients of the scholarship will be full-time, degree-seeking juniors or seniors in good academic standing at FGCU. The recipients will have demonstrated civic engagement above and beyond the University's required community service. Preference will be given to students engaged in human and social services activities. Examples include soup kitchens, community food drives. Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, homeless shelters, senior centers, Hospice care, Big Brothers and Sisters, English language tutors, and other social service projects.
