FGCU Bower School of Music Offers Piano Camp for High School Students
FORT MYERS, FL - The Bower School of Music at Florida Gulf Coast University will offer a piano camp for students in grades 9-12, July 30 to Aug. 2 on campus.
High school pianists will have the opportunity to study with Michael Baron, Head of Piano Studies at FGCU and Joanne Smith, Professor Emerita from the University of Michigan. Students will receive three private lessons, participate in master classes and have classes in piano literature, keyboard skills, and music theory.
An award-winning concert pianist, Baron performs more than 40 concerts each year, including annual engagements throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States. Baron's students are consistent winners in competitions around the world. He is a popular teacher and presenter for music teacher association workshops.
The camp will end with gala Final Recital and the presentation of certificates. Cost for commuting campers is $200, with meals during camp hours included. Cost for campers who want to stay on campus is $285, which includes a three-night stay at the FGCU residence halls and all meals.
