FGCU and the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce Partner to
Offer Professional Development Programs for Business and Industry in Collier County
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University Office of Continuing Education and the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce today announced a partnership that will help business and industry partners in Naples and Collier County access high quality and cost-effective professional development opportunities locally.
“Now that Florida Gulf Coast University is embarking upon its second decade, these are exactly the type of partnerships that will help extend our reach and further solidify us as a true regional University,” FGCU President Wilson G. Bradshaw said.
During the summer the FGCU Office of Continuing Education and the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce convened focus groups comprised of Collier County’s business and industry leaders to ascertain workplace educational needs. Once the input was received a plan was developed to offer high quality, cost-effective programming for employers throughout the county.
The first program to be launched in Naples is “Ethics, Leadership & Trust in the Workplace,” to be held November 5 at Moss Hall on the Moorings Presbyterian Church Campus. This course was developed in response to the focus groups’ desire for continuing education in areas of ethics and customer service. Presenters for the course are Jon Fishbane, J.D., Ph.D., and Andrew R. Joppa, M.B.A., M.A.
