FGCU Invites Media to Grand Opening of Holmes Hall, New Home of the U.A. Whitaker School of Engineering Jan. 22

FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University President Wilson G. Bradshaw invites the media to the grand opening of Holmes Hall, new home of the U.A. Whitaker School of Engineering, with a cocktail reception 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 22. President Bradshaw and founding director for the School of Engineering Susan Blanchard will be among the speakers. The program begins at 6 p.m. A press release will be disseminated Tuesday, Jan. 20 detailing the engineering program and the features of Holmes Hall.
Holmes Hall was funded with $7.5 million in private donations, which was matched by the state of Florida, and combined with other capital funding to provide the approximately $24.4 million total cost. Groundbreaking occurred in May 2007. The building opened for classes January 5.
