FGCU and Naples Botanical Garden Host Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Center for Education and Research, Feb. 25
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University and Naples Botanical Garden invite the public and the media to the groundbreaking ceremony of the Center for Education and Research, 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 4820 Bayshore Drive in Naples. FGCU President Wilson G. Bradshaw and Naples Botanical Garden Executive Director Brian Holley will be among the speakers.
The 15,000 square-foot state-of-the-art facility jointly developed by FGCU and Naples Botanical Garden will serve as an outdoor laboratory for many classes - for FGCU students and the community - in areas such as landscape design, native flora, plant ecology and physiology, and environmental biology.
The Center will be the nexus of all Garden programming, serving as the base of school and Lifelong Learning courses. Area garden clubs and plant societies will be able to utilize spaces in the Center for meetings and specimen showcases.
