FGCU Invites Media to Groundbreaking of Music Education and Performance Building, Aug. 20
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University President Wilson G. Bradshaw invites the media to the groundbreaking ceremony for the Music Education and Performance Building 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 20 at the Arts Complex Cul-de-sac (under a tent).
The ceremony honors Alan and Marilyn Korest for their support in establishing the Bower School of Music and provides an opportunity to showcase the design of a specialty building for music education and performance; and introduces interim director for Bower School of Music Robert Thayer.
The student Brass Choir and the student Wind Quintet will perform at the ceremony.
The State of Florida allocated $11.6 million to provide essential performance space that will help distinguish the Bower School of Music with excellence in teaching, performance, community service and research.
