WHAT "Songs and Arias, faculty recital with soprano Jeanie Darnell, associate professor of music and head of Vocal Studies, accompanied by pianist Michael Baron, professor of music and head of Piano Studies at FGCU.

WHY Darnell has been hailed by critics throughout the U.S. and Europe for her "wonderfully bell-like tones," (Wertheimer Zeitung). A regional finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in 1998, she is in demand as a concert artist nationally and internationally. Baron performs annually in the U.S., Europe, Asia and South America. He commands a diverse repertoire ranging from Baroque to world premiers of contemporary pieces. Performance includes music by Brahms, Debussy, Donaudy, Gounod, Rachmaninoff and Verdi.
