PepperBall Instructor/Armorer Certification Course for Law Enforcement Officers

WHO FGCU Weapons & Equipment Research Institute, law enforcement officers, media only - EVENT IS CLOSED TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC
WHAT "PepperBall Instructor/Armorer Certification" course funded by a Bureau of Justice Assistance grant as part of a Congressional Earmark. This grant provides testing and evaluation of law enforcement weapons and technology, and free training to local law enforcement agencies.
WHEN 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 3-4
WHERE Media is requested to contact associate professor Charlie Mesloh to coordinate location and time for interviews and shooting components of the class.
WHY Course provides instructor certification in the PepperBall less lethal launcher, and will allow participants to go back to their agencies and provide in-house training.
COST The project paid for 15 local law enforcement officers. Two FGCU graduate students conducting less lethal weapons research will also attend.
