FGCU Lutgert College of Business Invites Media to Annual
W. Thomas Howard Lecture Featuring Former U.S. Ambassador Francis Rooney
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University Lutgert College of Business invites the media to the 13th Annual W. Thomas Howard Lecture, in honor of Tommy and Mary Frances Howard, at 5:45 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 12 in the Media Room at the Main Clubhouse of Grandezza Golf and Country Club, 11481 Grande Oak Blvd., in Estero. Event is not open to the public.
Keynote speaker is former U.S. Ambassador Francis Rooney, CEO of Rooney Holdings, Inc., who will speak on "U.S. Diplomatic Engagement Under the Bush Administration." From 2005 to 2008, he served as the American representative to the Vatican in his role as U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See.
He currently serves on the board of directors of Helmerich & Paine, Inc., in Tulsa, Okla.; Vetra Energy Group, in Bogota, Colombia; the Trust for the National Mall and the Center for the Study of Presidency in Washington, D.C.; and the advisory board to the Panama Canal Authority, Republic of Panama.
Rooney also serves on a number of advisory boards, including the University of Notre Dame, and most recently joined the Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation Board.
FGCU President Wilson G. Bradshaw will offer opening remarks.
FGCU professor Stephen Drew, director of the Center for Leadership and Innovation in the Lutgert College of Business, will moderate the event.
Due to the brief time Rooney will be available, only 20 minutes have been allocated for media interviews.
