FGCU Students in Civic Engagement Class Organize "An Evening Fighting Cervical Cancer" Event June 5
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University students, as part of a civic engagement class project, invite the public to "An Evening Fighting Cervical Cancer," a wine and cheese event to bring awareness of the disease 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, June 5 in Student Union 214.
The event was organized by students under the direction of FGCU faculty Miles Mancini and Jessica Rhea to raise the public's awareness of the risks of HPV and cervical cancer. The event also aims to raise funding for the Florida Chapter of National Cervical and HPV Cancer Coalition (NCCC), a non-profit organization.
Activities include raffle baskets valued at $60 each, which include bottles of wine and gift cards donated by local businesses. Admission is $5 at the door. Extra monetary donations are welcome.
